  • Reunion 2013 "super fun times!"

    June 17, 2013

Reunion 2013 1Whether catching up with pals at Friday night class events, dancing with globes under the Pearsons tent (those dancers will remain nameless...), experiencing the great honor of being 'hooded' at the Golden Hoods Ceremony, parading in the misty rain, swapping stories at C-Haus, eating birthday cake ice cream from Dairyhaus, celebrating with fellow alumni as they receive their DSC award, laughing and cheering with President Bierman at the all-class celebration, enjoying classes with the faculty, hearing about the desegregation of the Greek system with Eric Hetland'12, catching a ride to your dorm on the golf cart, or just plain laying in the grass in Chapin Quad, reunion 2013 was, as one '98 alum put it, "super fun times." Photos are available now on our Beloit College Alumni Affairs Facebook page and will be available on our website soon. Thank you for joining us!

If you missed it, come on back for Homecoming 2013 September 20-22 and mark your calendar for Reunion 2014--June 13-16.

They’ve been playing ever since, at least a couple times a year, with gigs like the Montego Bay Jazz Festival, opening for Patti LaBelle! If you are in the St. Louis area, you can check them out May 18 at Robbie’s House of Jazz at 8 p.m.

  • Job shadow experiences bring enlightenment, motivation

    April 8, 2013

"This [job shadow] really helped me visualize a path and career trajectory for myself. Before, the idea of where I want my career to end up was intimidating, but now I better understand the path to get there and it has motivated me to be excited for all the steps long the way."--Karen'15

Over spring break, eight students had the opportunity to shadow alumni in San Francisco. Through Bacon Know Thyself Funds and funding from the Weissberg Program in Human Rights, these Beloiters were able to spend a week learning the in's and out's of a day in the life of a Beloiter. From financial planning and analysis at Charles Schwab to understanding proposal writing to understanding how an English major can work at the EPA, the experiences were as varied as the advice and understanding that each student took from their experience.

A special thank you to our alumni hosts! Yet another example of experiences "Brought to you by Beloiters."

The job shadow experience and alumni reception was a collaborative effort between the offices of Career Development, Development & Alumni Relations, Admissions, and Community-Based Learning.
