"This [job shadow] really helped me visualize a path and career trajectory for myself. Before, the idea of where I want my career to end up was intimidating, but now I better understand the path to get there and it has motivated me to be excited for all the steps long the way."--Karen'15
Over spring break, eight students had the opportunity to shadow alumni in San Francisco. Through Bacon Know Thyself Funds and funding from the Weissberg Program in Human Rights, these Beloiters were able to spend a week learning the in's and out's of a day in the life of a Beloiter. From financial planning and analysis at Charles Schwab to understanding proposal writing to understanding how an English major can work at the EPA, the experiences were as varied as the advice and understanding that each student took from their experience.
A special thank you to our alumni hosts! Yet another example of experiences "Brought to you by Beloiters."
The job shadow experience and alumni reception was a collaborative effort between the offices of Career Development, Development & Alumni Relations, Admissions, and Community-Based Learning.

In a brief address broadcast live and online to Beloiters across the country and world November 15, Beloit College President Scott Bierman shared a list of recent accomplishments and accolades but saved most of his time to introduce and explain the college’s new campaign strategy and slogan—Fast Forward: The Campaigns for Beloiters.
See the announcement video here: “President Bierman introduces Fast Forward”
Calling out to alumni and friends of the college, Bierman asked that they join him in this devotion to the honest and important work of supporting the college and, more importantly, its people. The campaign slogan, “Fast Forward: The Campaigns for Beloiters,” he said, intentionally calls out this focus on those impacted by this set of carefully selected priorities, as well as the speed at which the college intends to tackle these initiatives.
