Walter Ansel Strong, Jr
Class of 1936
Editor, Publisher, Civic Leader
Son of a famous journalist who was also trained by Beloit College, you return the few steps from your office to the Beloit campus for the Twenty-fifth Anniversary celebration of your class as one of this city’s best-known residents.
Already voted Beloit’s “Man of the Year”, you have been outspoken in your efforts to improve your adopted city. As editor and publisher of the BELOIT DAILY NEWS, you have maintained high standards of journalistic excellence, and your many community interests have all focused on civic improvement. Outside your own community you have aided youth as a member of the National Boy Scout Board, and your state governor has named you on his Commission on Human Rights.
This college with which you have so many family ties is proud to recognize your many achievements with this Distinguished Service Citation.
