Bachelor of Arts, Beloit, 1900; Bachelor of Divinity, Yale, 1903; Doctor of Divinity, Beloit, 1922. For your efforts in the missionary field in Africa from 1903 to 1944, for your studies in the ethnology of African tribes and the archaeology of their predecessors, for your translations of the word of God into African tongues, and for you work in the advancement of God’s kingdom, the Alumni Council has voted you the further honor of a Distinguished Service Citation, thus on behalf of the Council and the College I am pleased to present you with this certificate.
