INTERNATIONALIZATION AT BELOIT COLLEGE
Beloit College prides itself on internationalization. From its early beginnings the “college on the hill,” as Beloit College has been known in the community, has enrolled students from around the world. In the current academic year (2005-06), we will have nearly 100 students from 41 countries on campus, among them Muslim students from countries such as; Bahrain, Bangladesh, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Pakistan, Yemen and Syria. While Beloit has had a long history of enrolling Muslim students, the number on campus has grown recently thanks to the U.S. State Department’s Partnership for Learning for Undergraduate Studies (PLUS) program. This program brings university students from countries with large Muslim populations to the U.S. to complete liberal arts degrees. Two years ago, the College was chosen as one of 11 colleges and universities to host the first group of PLUS students. We are proud to be a part of this endeavor.
We have prepared this resource guide especially for Muslim students, but encourage other members of the campus to use the guide to learn more about the Muslim.
