Maize! The Cultural History of Corn highlights the history, use, and importance of corn. From its earliest days as a plant domesticated by the ancient Indian people of Mexico, corn has played a central role in the evolution of civilization. Today it is one of the most widely used crops in the world-infused into the diets of billions of people and applied as a key ingredient in a vast range of products and manufacturing processes. Objects on display include several varieties of corn, Native-American corn-processing tools and textiles and art that depict corn, as well as many examples of corn-based products.
